How far away is the nearest train station?
Do you recommend travelling by ROFLCOPTER?
Thankyou please

Get train into centre of Manchester and then get the tram thingy over to the ground. It stops just up the road.
Driving right to it is a nightmare, and parking is even worse.

Well just checked it out, trains take anything between 4 and 5 hours abd the route planner says 3.5 hours to drive (which at realistic speeds is about 2 hours 45 mintutes). So think I might drive and park out of town, go to the trafford centre for a bit etc.....

good luck with that, parking is a nightmare on match days and costs a fortune....and if your car is there when your back getting out is another problem!

driven to it a few times (3 or 4) and the only car park we could find that wasnt full was about £10 just for the game.
Parking in the twon centre for anything more than 4-5hours will be up around this too in most places.

On Trafford Park, there is the Village. this is where people get their dinners etc. You can park round there for free. It's also camerad aswell. But, there is a 5 min walk to the stadium.
Or, you can head to the car parks and just shout 'C3' as you drive past the unsuspecting teenager with a hi vis mac on. Always lets me through. (TBH i don't stop)
Only problem is getting back out.

Get there really early and park just outside of Saltford Quays, next to some restaraunts, chiquitos is one of them but cant remember the others, its free to park there providing you go to one of the restaruants. We didnt want anything to eat so just had a few pints. Its only a 10 minute walk from the ground and there are security guards that keep an eye on your car.

Yup thats what I always do when going to OT. Never had any probs leaving my car anywhere near Old Trafford.
Man City, however, was a different story

there are loads of streets about 5-10 mins walk from the ground where its safe to park ,and free, ive been watchin united for 20 years and never had any problems whatsoever. we park off a road called davyhulme road in stretford, not far from kelloggs and it only takes 10 mins to walk to the ground, plus you don't really get stuck in any traffic afterwards.

i've been once to old trafford to watch REM, we got the train into the city centre and got the metro in, it was a busy day but didn't have many problems getting there etc. we got picked up by my mates dad and it took us about an hour to get away, then i threw up out of the car window because i was little intoxicated, good day though!
