Does it piss anyone else off when people they know only ring them when they want something?

IE someone who i hardly ever speak to text me earlier wanting me to send them a copy of vagcom, so i txt him back a link, then a few hours later he was tying to call me, obviously wanting help to install it.

I didnt pick it up because I thought he was only ringing me as he wanted help, he wouldnt be ringing otherwise

I get this all the time.

Mainly fitting stereos etc. and then i don't hear from them inbetween.

There's one lad that I only hear from if he splits up with his Mrs. If i see it says Olly, i always know they've split up. Other than that he never rings.

Pisses me off.

It wouldn't bother me as much, but they try to hide it like its not totally obvious.

e.g.

friend: rings me "what you doing, want to do something"

me: yeah sure what

Friend: drive me to ***** place to pick something up.

Me: no you leech.

wouldn't be that bad but i know fine well if he knew some one else who he could ask for a life he wouldn't have bothered with me or asked me to come along.

pisses me off.

i have "mates" that are in a band that i used to hang out with in high school, but every now and then i get a phone call saying "do you fancy giving us a lift to crosby or somewhere, we'll pay you and everything" the first few times i said yes because i wanted to get to know them again, but when they never paid me/only ring me when they want a lift somewhere i sacked them off, stern but fair

i was so popular in college because i could drive, but i've left now and i don't hear from any of the people, coincidence?

however this isnt really fair, i always offer to drive places because none of my mates can and i hate public transport, the only time i rely on it is when i'm out boozing etc

i have a couple like this, i think they, well 1 got the message when he phoned up asking for my help to fit his suspension, i said yeah sure and never contacted him
took him 3 weeks to get the message, i think i sealed it when i said i normally charge £50 to do suspension

i spose im the kind of mate that doesnt make an effort, but at the same time i dont only ring when i want somthing, i am a bit of a recluse.

Yeah, I've had a few friends call, make conversation, then lead into the real reason for their call:

"Dan, I've got this problem with my computer..."

As if I don't have enough hassle with computers/network in work!
