wow...

paint looks a bit dull in some pics but overall condition seems great. Spec isnt shy either!!

1970 Dodge Charger 440 R/T

This is a rare opportunity to buy not only a charger, but an R/T with its original number matching engine block and gearbox.

The 1970 was the last year of the famous coke bottle shape chargers and production figures were lower than the previous 69 and 68 years, making the 1970 model a little bit more rare.

The most noticeable changes for the 70 r/t model was the wrap around front bumper and door pods with the R/T emblem.

This is the same model year as the car in the Fast and the Furious film.

Now this car is not in show condition and does require ongoing restoration but is taxed and mot’d so drive it now and finish restoring it later.

Most of the hard work has been done and has just had a quick coat of paint.

The car came with some good options from the factory.

It was originally in FE5 Bright Red paint with a black vinyl roof.

The Fender tag is intact showing all the codes and the production tape is also on the drivers door.

Below is a description of the car as much as possible:-

The interior is nice, headlining needs fitting but is supplied.

Dash board pad is excellent

Front Jazz Bucket seats.

New rear seat cover

New Carpet

Simpson 5 point harness (drivers side)

New headlining (needs fitting)

New door and ¼ Window seals.

New interior screw kit (supplied)

New door hinges!!!!!

New door handles and locks

New chrome door sills

New front and rear R/T emblems

New R/T door emblems (supplied)

New Fender seals

New Grill Spacers (supplied)

The external chrome is good, rear window chrome needs fitting better but is ok.

The car has had repair panels fitted to the rear 1/4s and sheet metal in the trunk.

Frame rails and floor pan is solid with only minor repairs

Front grille is excellent with only a minor crack to the top side but there is a spare broken grill to go with the car. Headlamp doors are fine and the motor works but not wired up at the moment.

Overall the car is solid and the body is good, it really needs a little time and tlc to the paintwork and body and this would be an excellent car.I do have the door air scoops, they need spraying and fitting,

The alloy wheels are Appliance 8.5x15

Tyres are new BF Goodrich all round

New Mini high Torque (lighter/more powerful) Starter motor

New Alternator and Bracket

New NOS Mopar 3 speed Wiper Motor

New Wiper Blades

The engine is a 440 ci (7.2 litre) big block v8.

This engine was built by Hauser Race Cars a few years back and has covered about 700 miles or so and been on the ¼ mile at Santa Pod and performed strong mid 12 second runs. This was gained using a 4.10 rear axle.

The specification for the running gear is as follows

440 hp block, bored 30 thou over

TRW forged pistons.

Worked sixpak rods

ARP rod bolts
Mopar sixpack crank,

10-1 Compression

All recipricating assembly balanced,
