Golf TDI then. Corsa GSi's will be thirsty, cost a lot to maintain and most of them will be fairly tatty.

Corsa C would be the obvious choice, smaller but also new.

never driven a corsa C, not keen on them looks wise though, much prefer the astra....

length wise yeah. guy across road has a 2.0 tdi golf, he let me have a go and it was soooo nice to drive! plus nice lookin cars! thing i dont like about my car, the car parking spaces in work arent the biggest ever, my car sticks out a bit......come out of work most days and theres a new scratch where someone has scuffed it parking! should see my wheel arch dented right in!

gsi's are quite old by now, i wouldn't get one, aren't reknowned for being very special (unless you like corsas)
get a VW lupo or polo

I would get rid of the Astra, the longer you keep it the more money u will loose on it, looks like u dont want the Astra n e more so try and get rid of the Astra. Its not easy if your on Finance though.
