Was driving to work today from the girlfriends which means i have to drive through the largest (IIRC) specs camera system in the uk
i was having a think that in theory they are a great idea and reduce speeding
HOWEVER - i was also noticing that you do not concentrate on the road, more your speedo which is far more dangerous than driving at 80mph with full concentration IMO
It also just starts at a very bad junction on a dual carriegway, so people are looking at there speedo and not what is crossing the road infront of them

I do this too, im always checking the speedo when going through camera's. Especially at our sort of age gap where 3 points can cost us more than just the fine (insurance)

Same with speed cameras near traffic lights. Too busy checking your speedo than the traffic in front.

Yup, some people will one day realise that speed doesnt kill.
Its careless driving, sleepy dirvers, drunks, druggies, and people who cant drive!
But then the government would find it hard to make money off dangerous drivers

on the way to the pod theres some and there3 is NO speed signs so i went through at like 20mphs for like 10 miles

Its been said for a while that speed cameras divert your attention from the road. A greater Police presence would be more effective imo.
