"I paid into the NHS for years to look after me but now the doctors were telling me they wouldn't so who's robbing who?"
Did he do the right thing? Or if you were in his situation would you have done it?
Tbh i can see where he's coming from and fair play to him but there are lots of other people probably in a similar situation why should he get to jump the queue if they're all honest paying citizens?
That said... if the NHS was run better/more efficiently there would be less of a queue and things like this wouldn't happen but then again that is extremely unlikely to happen due to a large number of reasons.
So was he in the right or not?

I think he found a clever way of getting something, but its stupid how he has been made to pay £25 a month if that was any body of a younger generation i think they would go to prison to be honest.

No, it wasnt the right thing to do, but i can see why he did it.
the NHS waiting list is crap, it shouldnt be 9 months, New Labour were supposed to cut waiting times, and they dont seem to have succeeded, so you cant blame him for doing it
and fair play to him for managing to fool the system...

I don't think it was the right thing to do because, as said, there's probably lots of people in dire situations who are paying for their op, but fair play for an old codger fooling the NHS

He isn't in the right OR the wrong. He just did what he could to help him survive.
Only the NHS are in the wrong.

he IS in the wrong though, he broke the law by writing a cheque which he KNEW would bounce.
but yeah, the NHS is the real criminal here, for expecting him to wait that long
