he car has had 4 former keepers, done 51k and in imaculate condition inside and out. I have been the owner for the last two years. I have dry stored it all the time, only seen the rain once on the feature day. Every wearable component on the car has been repleced or uprated. Lots and lots of reciepts for so many items. Oil and filter changes less than every 500 miles, helped by me getting a large discount at the local vauxhall garage. I have tried to keep the car as standard looking as possible and make it perform well. As you can imagine it does perform well. This year the car went to the Nurburgring and did a 9 min 40 sec lap with me only been around the track 4 times. Here is the spec and some pictures of the car below.
Shell/Body:1989 F plate shell. Standard bodywork with euro back lights and mud flaps. Stitch welded front end. Bonnet release cable repositioned inside inner wing. Bulkhead/battery panel removed for larger engine bay. Ford wiper motor bracket. All fixings smoothed/removed in engine bay. Front hubs, driveshafts, TCAs, Tie bars, rear beam all powder coated white. All other smaller parts replaced/re-conditioned/painted.
Engine: Fully rebuilt original engine 1600 8v, Block cleaned and painted black. Crank sized and polished journals. Rods fitted with ARP bolts. New main and big end bearings. New oil and water pumps. Lightened and balanced flywheel. Head gas flowed with 3 angle valve seats. New hydraulic lifters and piper competition valve springs. Oil pressure adjusted with small spacer. Piper 300 degree rally cam and vernier pully. Standard inlet manifold and throttle body as Group A build spec. Four branch manifold. 20 XE injectors. 16XE coil pack. FSE regulator. MBE 967 programmable ECU and SBD loom with all new sensors fitted. 20XE oil cooler. Alloy oil catch tank. Bailey header tank. Janspeed full exhaust system. 147 bhp at 7250rpm and 114lb/ft at 4700rpm
Gearbox: Standard close ratio F13 gearbox and 4.18 final drive fitted and ATB LSD. Rose jointed short shift gear linkage.
Suspension: Front Koni adjustables and 60mm springs. Lowered rose jointed and adjustable tie bar mounts. Top mounts adjusted by 8mm. Front anti roll bar removed. Rear Billstein tarmac rally dampers and 80mm and 60mm (track use) springs. Rear anti roll bar. Polybushes all around and spring seats.
Brakes: Front 256mm ATE callipers fully re-conditioned. Red dot 20 groove disks. Ferrodo DS2500 race pads. Braided hoses. Rear Standard drums.
Wheels:ASA motorsport with 195/45 R15 Yokohama A539 tyres.
Interior: Standard Nova GTE 1989 spec.

Is a lovely lovely motor, and the GTE is very rare car now, if I had the money and the space I would have it.

Intresting, how do you change it to run a Corsa GSi coil pack, and no air flow meter? That would be good for mine, seeing has a have a X16XE dis pack, I feel a Lee Mitchell special coming on
Would you need new management and a new loom made up for this? I get the feeling its not a garden shed modification.
