Audi A3 2.0 TDi 170 S-line Quattro in Avus Silver (but not a 5dr Sportback like in the picture)

or

Golf GT 2.0 TDi 170

Test driven the Audi and I love it and had my heart set on that...

But then the other night I was driving my Dads Mk5 Golf GT TDi (early 140 version before they changed the bumper design to the above) and its exactly the same to drive (which I knew it would be allready) but it got me thinking about the Golf cos its several thousand £ cheaper...

Only thing is that on the Golf you dont get half leather, you dont get 18s, the styling isn't as sporty and you dont get 4Motion on the 3 door versions.

Both the same performance. Just cant weigh up if its worth the extra cost to have the nice little styling extras you get with an S-line A3 when I can get the Golf for probably 4-5k cheaper

Audi. Golf looks really flabby and gay compared to the A3.

I'd pay the extra so it didnt look like i was driving an over inflated Mk3.

If you can afford it, go for the audi, much nicer looking car's, my mate has an R32 the newest one, its awesome in every way but the styling is nothing special at all IMO

As much as i love golfs i would go for the audi A3 as when you come to sell you would probley got more back for it than you would for the golf

Well they are advertised as 150 but over on the Seat club a lot of people have had them rolling roaded and they have come out with 170bhp as standard

something to do with keeping insurance costs down and not taking sales away from Audi or any other part of the VAG group

Yea only five door but it really suits the Leon, obviously if you don't like how it looks don't go for it, was just an idea

Your right I think I would probably always wish I had gone for the Audi...

Eitherway I'm gonna be in debt

Just needed other people to tell me the Audi is worth the extra ££££ cos my Dad is the one saying I may aswell save a bit of money and buy the Golf and I was starting to come round to that way of thinking. Suppose thats another reason not to get the Golf - cos my Dad has one

what is all this FR150 talk? they are 170 standard

Ontopic i think the audi will be better in terms of risiduals and golfs are nice but a tad bland the mk5's IMO
