Had a look tonight , at the SRi 16v I had posted about a few days back.
Seems ok I suppose for the price but just want to run a few things by and see what thoughts are ?
Rust - theres bubbles of rust on the panels , quite bad in particular on the bonnet but they only seem to be surface rust no holes etc
No corrosion underneath on chassis legs etc
Interior is pretty tidy apart from a tear in the drivers bolster
One thing Im a bit worried about though is an oil leak
It was running down the block but not pissing out , think it was round about the oil filter .. Really just a stain and a wee drip on the ground.
What I'm wondering is could this be the head gasket !
Also the mileage is 105k , not 95k as I was told.
The lad wasnt around when I had a look but Im going back tommorow night to have a test of it.
Say I can get the price down to £400 , with years MOT, is it still worth it ?
Cheers
Gregor

That pic is from my Astra. Wasn't the oil filter - oil was coming out from the head gasket!

my engine looked fairly similar to this, it was a split gasket somewhere apparently, cost all of £60 to fix. but if you're only spending a small amount £60 could seem a fair bit
