Space Raiders are an inexpensive snack food, intended to fill the same niche as products such as crisps, and are supplied in similar packets. They are made from corn and wheat and available in several flavours: pickled onion, salt and vinegar, beefy and spicy (a cheesy flavour was previously available, but appears to have been withdrawn). They are made by KP Snacks in Ashby-de-la-Zouch in the UK and are especially popular with children (due to their low cost and spacey packaging) and students (due to their low cost). They have remained at an inflation beating retail cost of 10 pence since their introduction in the 1980s.
The mini comic story available on the backs of packets have, over the last 25 years, spanned from the adventures of 'Astra and her Space Pirates' through to the current stories of aliens being afraid of the crunching sounds of the snacks being eaten. These snacks hold nostalgic notions for many British adults today along with other consumables from the 80's such as 'Top Deck' and 'Marathons'
These crisps are favorites of many celebrtities including Top London Model Michael Nutt and Professional Gambler Jay Elday.

At my local SPAR there is a slightly bigger bag available at the reasonable sum of 20p... you get so much for the money, definately better than buying two bags at 10p each
