hey guys im in need of some help!
my c20xe conversion on my 1.2 8v spi is nearly done, but i still cant get her started.
from te corsa starter llom i have, red/back, blue white, and blue green. that all jus go colour 2 colour 2 the starter motor. with a posotive going off the starter. gearbox earthed to chassis, starter motor eartherd to chassis. battery in boot, thick power cable going from it too bonnet, and battery eartherd in boot,. using the 1.2 battery?
allwires in footwell are colour 4 colour, excluding the normal 4. with the tick red going to the battery, as i belive this is the power for the ecu. i had a "friend" around that is supposed 2 do these as hobby, and he belives all the wiring is correct. and told me 2 change the starter motor.
dash lights come on, then as you turn the key, there is jus a loud click from the starter motor, so we thought it was just sticking, so i changed it for one i had off a running car, but no luck.
ive been turning it over without the camcover on, and a few times when you hear the "click" for a split second, you can see the pulleys nudge around a tiny bit.
but 2 add 2 even more wieredness, one random time it tried turning over for a full second and a half and you could see the pulleys go around alot further. so i got all excited, tried again and "click"
i hope someone can understand this "click" it kind of even sounds like when you have a flat battery. but i tried it with some jump leads 2 and no good.
any ideas guys?
bad earth?
too small battery?
wrong wiring?
help! im gettin all depress and running out of ideas!
also, my "friend" said, when tracing the 9 wires in the footwell back when they go into the tick loom, he said something about he thought there should be some relays in there.
with it being an spi 1.2 8v before, is there anything like relays behing the fues board i might be missing?
but like i said i belive that mike ran about in this for ages, then i had the whole engine loom etc off him, so thats why im jus kinda guessing im missing something really obvious

right, got it started "ish"
found out from my battery, i have a terminal with some big gold fuses in connecting my posotives in. turned out i had fried them, so i have bridged them over, and jobs a gudden fired over really fast.
then it didnt start, found it was the posotive to my fuel pump, attached it and away she went, fired up a treat! sounded like a spitfire though as i only have the manifold on 4 now while im faffing. so she started, straight away, a bit spluttery and bangy. turned her off, soldered up that posotive and tapped everything up, tried it again, and it started, but it spluttered and cut out. ever since, it turns over really fast, just doesnt start. check all my plugs, and got fuel as its p*ssing out the maifold, really fast turning over, but nothing.
help!
was really excited but now she has given in, will this just be from the engine not running for months, and only having a few quid of petrol in her, or do you think its anything serious. im still hopeful though, got the fuel and the spark, jus not happening though?
pleae help guys
any advice is good!

try pouring petrol down the inlet manifold. R u getting a spark on all 4 spark plugs? Is it dizzyless ignition? If not could be the rotor arm needs cleaning. Are you getting the diag light on your dash. If so try the paper clip test.
