i want to be able to start my car without the keys
i have a 'push button start' on order, but you stil need the keys to do the 1st 2 clicks on the ignition
is there anyway of replacing the 2 click with, say, 2 switches?
all i would need then is my alarm fob for the immobilsers.
i would obviously need to look into a fuel cut off swtich and battery isolation too
is this possible?

its possible, but you'd still need the key to undo the steering lock. unless you left the key in most of the time and used it as an extra immobiliser in dodgy places

I looked into it. In fact the thread is below. I wanted to havea start button where the key should go
need a special immobiliser and switches and stuff. No point in it all really.

I have remote start on my car, but you need the key in the ignition to actually go anywhere.

If you have a switch to turn the immobiliser off then it isn't really an immobiliser is it because anyone can just switch it of. You need a proximity sensetive device, which is expensive to say the least.

ive got cat 1 immobilser on my alarm, so would stil need the key fob to turn it off.
was thinkin about havin a fuel cut off, only somewhere i know where it is.
surely its just a case of 2 switches for the 1st 2 clicks, then a push button start?

you will need the key as the key and the ignition barrel have transponders and unless they are within "communicating" disstance the standard immobiliser will not allow the car to start. So to answer your question no you cant have switched unless you can find a way of getting the transponders to "communicate". Plus as rob said the steering lock will cause problems, and as mark said a push button and switches will invalidate any sort of thatchcam approved alarm/immobiliser
