My head is in a bit of a mess at the moment, been a really shit year for me and so many things have changed in the last 2 months, think just getting out of the country for a bit will do me some good. Been thinking bout going to spain for a week or two, possibly on my own, just wondering if anyone here has stayed in hostels or similar abroad? Is it easy to make friends out there? Never been travelling alone before, my best mate went round thailand for 3 months on his own, met loads of sound people and had a wicked time, i only had the idea last night in a dream, woke up at 4 this morning wide awake and started looking at plane tickets Would be a good chance to practice my spanish too before i go back to uni in september

Some girls I spoke to were staying in a hostel for 10 euros a night in san antonio.

Had their own room too.

Yeah ive stayed in 1 hostel and worked doing a few upgrade to fire alarms etc, in actual fact i was working in one 30mins ago. i would recommend spending a little extra and getting a nice clean room.
Here in aussy you can get a really dirty dorm room of 6 for $15-20 a night and you can get a really nice one for $30 a night. i stayed there for 4 weeks enjoyed it so much. met a load of travellers. most of them were girls though im not complaining.

Come to australia ive been here 7months now and im nowhere near bored always somewhere else to go and see etc. i miss sunny england though !

Thinking about this more and more now, hostels sounds like the way forwards cos its the best way of meeting people i guess. Would love to go to Australia but cant afford it, and i'm not allowed to leave the country for more than 2 weeks either which wouldnt really give me enough time to make the most of it.

Well im currenly moving but cant find anywhere to stay at the moment, so it looks like im going to have to stay in a hostel. it is a great way of meeting people. its ok when your on holiday but i was getting mad after 4weeks in one because i was staying in a 4 bed dorm with 3 girls and they were messy as fuk and came im all hours of the night jumping on my bed pissed. and i had work the next day was ok now and again but not every fucking night

You meet alot of different people, and its interesting how people from different countries look at life in general. i met and worked with one person from slavakia and he saved $60,000 in 1 year, mainly becuase he was used to spending nothing as he had nothing. use to piss me off though because all he used to go on about was money it was a good job he had 60k though he got sacked after 3weeeks
