Starting to have enough of my job. Have applied for another few IT support posts and Analyst posts where I can progress up the ladder quicker and will see if I get called for an interview.

Also just filling out my application to join the Police also as an officer. Looks like a really good job, no day looks the same and there is so much variety to it. looks like a job I'd really enjoy. Was speaking to a bird on holiday who does it and she didn't really have a bad word to say about it!

For the first two years yes. After that you can go into a specialised role if you wish and have the potential.

You'll loose alot of friend joining the police, if thats something your prepared to do then go for it.

A few of ma mates are coppers and aer totally different people now, they said the once you join it takes over your personal life and actually wished they hadnt bothered joining, only thing keeping them there is the money

£27k starting in London, rising to £29k after 18 weeks training. But doubt they will be recruiting for a good few years as they have so many people in backlogs etc..

Mate has recently joined the Met Police, and his whole recruitment process took 4 years!

the friends that you loose prob arent goin to be decent friends in the first place

you do change but not enough to warrant having no friends...most changes are for the better prob! lol

after 2 yrs you can to into other areas but realistically for your own sake think around 4/5 yrs...experience really.

recruitment is horrible....best bet is to apply and forget about it until a letter's on your doormat for the next stage of recruitment.! it takes aaaages and youll drive yourself mad if you constantly think about it.

yes you deal with alot of 'scum' but most the job is doing paperwork and learning new processes! but when your covering a beat it is still good. prob 50/50 to time spent out and time spent at a desk.

money isnt great (not too bad tho!)but pension and retiring after 30 yrs kinda makes up for it

finally..many coppers are arrogant/tossers/dicks etc but does anyone here not hav these in your workplace??????lol

no qualifications needed at all - kust the personal qualities that are required to do the job
