hmmm
worth a thought.... space is an issue though. If it was a runner it would be better.
Any idea what's up with the loom, or is it a simple job to mate them up?

The loom will need "buzzed" to see which wire does what and them mated up to the car's loom.
It wouldn't be going for 600 quid if it was a runner.

I'm sure i'd have enough pieces kicking about to make an exhaust up for it...
... or just buy a grp N one... 
You could get a Raceland shrouded filter off Ebay for 60 quid... and a raceland manifold for 150 quid.

The engine loom is in the car and connected up to the engine but not the car.

As i said you'd need to buzz the loom to see whick wires do what and them solder them together with the car loom.
It'll take a wee while to do...
