Mileage is too high for most people to justify spending that much on it.

Split it, you'll get money for all the mods, and if the shell is good enough, some1 might buy it and drop a bigger engine in it

Waste of money. Its just over-priced, mileage too high, few bad bits like scratches etc. Its still only a 1.4 Corsa with big mileage so its technically only worth about a grand at the most.

if you 'want' to try get as much as you can, 1.8k max, but be expected to have offers around the 1.5k mark as steve and others have said...

splitting, probably be better to do that, return whats left of the shell to standard & then sell that on ebay with no reserve...

will get about £600-£800+ then for the kit & wheels & such, say £100 to return the bodywork to standard, sell for what... £about 600 then on the bay??

again modded cars are bitches to sell on, they depreciate more than a MG rover does by having a bird poop on it!

i'm no expert but as someone who sifts through Autotrader, pistonheads eBay motors on fairly regular basis just to see how much things go for i'd say PaulW about right.

Wisebuyers for standard is giving £1255 at best
(www.wisebuyers.co.uk)
Parkers again standard gives £1425 at best (milage not taken into account)

goin on typical 10-12k mile a year, as a rough industry standard average, for '98 thats 80-92k miles. you have close to double at minimum 1.5 times that.

it doesn't take a CS member to see there has been money spent on it and lets be honest the photos look nice and its a great example of a car.
the description proves that, you have got it all, teh ICE list is impressive in itself and could justify a higher price - all the hard bist been done

it clear you're being honest but for the damage it has and the cost (rather than effort) involved to get it back to prime it does seem over priced.

its a real shame, but realistically split it. you already have got LOTS of interest for plenty of parts on the car.
split it seems best option, you've said your self you can get £2K, i think prob more if you want. with as much interest in the outside of car and the ICE system (tv/DVD player) could go for a favourable price.

if you want to gets money's worth as its got 12months MOT make the most of it, tax it and use it for another year - insurance renewal used as a deadline?
in the mean time you can save the extra that you're not beign offered and still enjoy it.

sorry for the essay, but you asked for opinions and i've given a buyers point of view. been as realistic as i can, moded cars dont sell well (i spend enough time going thru the ads to know that) and your just unfortunate to have the bad points casting such a black mark

i wish you all the best, and interested to know what you get in the end, weather ever route you take.

Split it for the best price I think but I know it's a hassle..

If you want it gone quick drop the price.

For 142000 miles its looking good.

But £2300 is a wee bit overpriced.

Also change the advert in classifieds to make everything a bit more clear

As said, overpriced for the milage of the car, but in real terms few people will want a car with that many miles be it at rock bottom prices or not. Even if you re-con the engine, the rest of the drive train and chassis is past it's use-by date (Given most cars are desinged to last 10 years/100k).

The way you have to see it is the market your looking to sell woo will be 17-18 year olds, who need a cheap to run & insure car. Yours may fit the bill, but they'll be put off by the mileage, expecting things to break and become costly, when they could have bought a lower milaged car for the same price.

As has been said, to get the most money back, you need to return it to standard and sell for around the £1k mark, and then someone will buy it as a cheap run-around, not bothered if it breaks or not .

That's how i'd look at it anyway .
