Will be looking to weld in the door bars for the 205 this week. I dont know whether to fit them straight or diag.
My corsa has diag

Depends if you want them to be easy to get into the car or for them to actually do their job well

can you change the length of the door bars though; at the minute they're fitted straight across, if you move one end up you will effectively be increasing the distance across which the bar is

the corsa isnt that hard to get in/out.... just sit on the bar and fall in, being careful not to catch yourself on the unpadded buckets

Straight, noit gonna make that much difference if you crash imo may aswell not have to break your back every time u get in.

well the pugs you have shown pics of are straight, maybe for a reason dont no though, can you find any pics of 205's with diagonals?

The ones above look to be horizontal so the interior door handle goes over them. Maye the door wouldn't shut if a diagonal bar was hitting in the way of the handle? Dunno how stripped AK's 205 is tho, maybe doesn't have any interior handle any more!

diagonal, it'll protect the ribs more if you stack it 
and it should stiffen the shell up a tiny bit more than the straight ones
who cares how easy it is to get in or out?
