is it legal to display the front number plater in windscreen next to the tax disc? its just that I took my number plate off today to clean the grill around it and it looks so much better without it on.

you have to have it on the front of the car although i dont bother i just throw mine in my window when i see a cop - shows willing that i half made the effort to put one on

I've read of people being done even though they were displaying in the windscreen.

my misses got a fixed penalty notice for hers! and you have to have an m.o.t station clarify that its been put back on properly aswell.
