So I dropped the front by changing over the springs as alot of you might remember:


Looked abit silly with the front being low and the back high so decided because i have no job i will do the reat torsion bar myself, what a mistake that was lol.
So here it goes:



So took the Anti Roll bar out, torsion bars but then i had a problem with 1 bar, the screw wasnt playing ball. So i tried lots of methods but then in the end i decided to drill it semi out and then use a dremel to cut holes on the top so that i could try and still unscrew it without loosing the thread. That worked eventually.

Anyway after alot of ball ache will aligning the bars on the splines i did it. Wooooooo but then went for a test drive and found out the anti roll bar wasnt in propeerly and was rattling - well annoying,.
So bar on the axel stands to find out why? in the end i decided to hit it with a mallet and then put a screw in one end to hold it in, the old screw was a rubber one and didnt do much.
After that , its all good.
Here some pics after i cleaned it up alittle.

no pics of the actual process? i have absolutely no idea about splines and shit.
looks better though, could go a tad lower maybe? or it might be the pic?

no interior in at the back so it was hight.
Also i heard alot of people bitching about the anti bias brake valve. Its horse poo as i went to test my car afterwards and it breaked as straight as an arrow and smoothly.

Splines are notches on a bar so you basically line them up lol.

what exactly happened? did you lower it yourself??? im trying to source some springs this weekend and do mine, i have no idea where to start, ive got a guide off the net how to do it though

I lowered it myself,
Do the front springs yourself but i wouldnt recommend doing the torsion bar. Took me 3 days in the end lol.
The front only took a day max and the rear 3 haha.
Also Haynes manual has fook all about torsion bars. I used a 306 guide but in the end had to work it out for meself as it is kinda different.

I had a go at a torsion bar with my Saxo. Never again!
You could do with going a tad lower on the back IMO. Or, because it was that much of a ball ache, buy a couple bags of sand

Interior is out at the moment so thats why its higher.
Will be better when i put the interior back in.

Can you not buckle your floor if not done right? as I remember someone with a clio that done his and his floor got buckled to fuck 
You do need to go down a little tho Would look much better

Erm i think you may have to be a retard to buckle your floor. - i guess if you left the bars in and didnt rotate them properly that could happen.
Im tempted to go out side and put the seats in and then take a photo to shut people up about the back.

i wouldnt go any lower, dont forget it will be lower when your in gear,
its probably around 35-40mm all round as one splien is about that, the interior wont make it any lower... c'mon it weigh's fuck all

its 50mm drop as i measured it before hand.

50mm is not one notch. It was acouple of splines down.
What i did was, pull the bars out. Put the jackunderneath and push it up to the height i wanted. The with a little adjustment with the jack and the bar it went in fine.

nice one mate just got the bilstein kit for mine down 40mm on saxo vts wheels, had to buy same shit you did ball joints, track rod ends and drop links, And i now know why you where cutting stuff, the bolts are rusted on,

its about right anywho, i wouldnt go anymore, i had major problems with the decat and manifold joint catching, i had the car in 3 times within about 6 months to get it repaired, kept smashing it everywhere off the deck, theres one lad i knew who had his down 80mm on the rear and it was a complete joke TBH

An extreme pain in the arse.
To think about it, Never do a 106 suspension it such a ball ache all round. I may have done it but it took time, effort and lots of money.

No problems over speed bumps with mine.
Only one, where a pub has a concrete home made bump and all that caught was the Middle section of the exhaust.
Surely a decat is smaller and higher up, your front must be bloody low.
