I am purchasing a whole new tool kit and want all the same manufacture as it will look better if everything is one brand.

So which is better Dewalt or Makita both coming up similar prices for everything I need.

The old man swears by Makita but others Makita, as there is a few builders, craftsmen on this site I wonder what you prefer.

i use makita and dewalt tools all the time at work and think there both shit hot

but if it was my money id have to be dewalt purely on the looks

Drill
Stapler
Electric driver

and not fussed if it has a cord
jigsaw

if that makes recoomendations easier

makita corded jigsaw is a good buy i rate it highly. I find makita drill/drivers very good and get used everyday being a carpenter.

i use both in which i rate very highly and of similiar quality however i tend to use the dewalt stuff purely for posing tool value
