I'm going to attempt to save ry here and get back to topic. I agree that people do assume a loud car is speeding, for instance when I had my 1.2 8v I'd take off in first gear, and by the time I hit 10mph its howling its head off the looks I used to get as well

edited to say I don't however condone speeding before I get the verbal assault directed at me

i used to try to hit an indicated 30 in mine (limiter in 1st), then pop it in 3rd and coast along the rest of the road

and i agree, the looks i used to get, you'd have sworn i was doing 90 or something

but i wasnt, i never went above 30 in it round my village

Mine does 33mph in first (indicated)

And shouldn't it really be in 4th at 30mph?

Well the limiter is 33mph...I hardly ever hit the limiter and a ragging every now and then does the engine good IMO as long as oil's upto temp

Wouldnt say it sounded good , and it must have sounded terrible because yes the filter would be deep etc , but the engine would be whining like fuck

Yea the engine does whine at 30mph+ in first, that's why I don't do it often
