Yes Wenger is very good in transfer market, im not doubting tha at all, but I also think that Arsenal / Dein don't give him any option but to get these kinda players!

I dont think he would spend millions though (with the odd exception) as he is very much like Rafa where he wont pay over the odds for any players and will just walk away from a deal if he feels they are being held to randsom.

Arsene Wenger is just as bas with his signings as anyone else he doesn'y have a magic wand. There's millions of varying factors which decide if it becomes a good signing or not, if they bed in quickly, their family settle, they enjoy working with the players already there etc...

Off the top of my head here's a few of Wengers howlers;

Pascal Cygan
Raami Shabaan
David Grondin
Jeremie Allierdierre
Nelson Vivas
Igors Stepanov
Oleg Luzhny
Richard Wright
Stefan Malz
Christopher Wreh

etc etc

wouldnt say that he's one of your better players that actually has a bit of class and humility unlike some of the idiots that have preceded him

ok good shout, but the signings he has made have been very very good and very good prices, some teams go for players that are well known and big money (Chelski more than anyone)

I'd agree with that, theres less of a risk factor with Wengers signings due to the fact he doesn't spend millions.

Oh just thought of another one he did waste £££ on...Franny Jeffers.

As mentioned, Wengers flops havent cost him a fortune, hence why it doesnt really matter. He has had very few major flops, but Jeffers was def one!!!

you havent got the money to buy him, and the rest of the players you need IMO. Not to mention he will probably cost alot more than that after the WC.

When Pascal Cygan first signed for us in ......2001 iirc he put in some very very solid performances. It's only the last 2 years that he has struggled with form. I feel he is one of those player that should he have a good run in the first team, it would boost his morale and therefore his form would improve.

Jeremie Allierdierre is amazing, we had him at wolves for about 6 months, and he was great, recovering from injury, and still man of the match every game he played. another Henry in the making, he'll get more chance to show you in the prem next season

He has always had potential. I rememberhim playing in the Charity Shield V Man U. a couple of years back, he scored a good goal and put in a good performance. He is pretty quick too.

He is another one of those players with fantastic potential but has serious injury problems.

and that's what it will cost for Torres (atleast 25mil anyway). So with 15mil atleast for Carrick, and another few players needed I doubt you'll be going for him!
