**Apologies for the true amatuer attempts at photography and the poor quality of the pictures too **
I was invited to attend an afternoon 'test track' session at Thruxton which had been laid on by vauxhall.
It was an event to make people more aware of the VXR range that vauxhall offer, with the opportunity to test drive all the VXR models on the track. (under professional supervision)
I'll stop going on, but the highlight of the day was having Tom Chilton take me around the track in an 888 prepared Astra VXR. Noticable differences were the brakes, slicks and exhaust. He didnt follow any racing lines and at points we were doing 125mph where I was doing 65 on the same corner etc:eek: He can drive8)
I drove all of the below, and although I have most on the road, the track was a different kettle of fish to really show the ability of the cars.
Monaro VXR
Astra VXR
Vectra VXR
Vectra estate VXR
Meriva VXR (good fun!)
Zafira VXR
I also drove the Astra Twintop. It was ok, nothing great:red:

All in all, a much better way to spend my afternoon than be in the office

Vectra VXR for noise and comfort, although the astra VXR was superb on the track.
Surprise of the day was the meriva...superb engine and in the corsa D, it should be a weapon.
