Got a genuine WWII Desert Rats map (My grandad was in the Desert Rats incase you wonder why), thing is I want to frame it and hang it on a wall but it's quite large and all the frames I've seen aren't big enough, I know if I goto a specialist woodworker/chippy it could be quite pricey, so wondered if anyone knows of any other options?
Map is 39x29 inches.

Cheers people (apart from Rob! LOL! )
Luigi probably gonna pop into town later and have a look in there, failing that I'll investigate Ally's idea and pop into Wilknison on the way home!

Ally when you say it was laminated, how have they done it? put a still board behind it and put hanger/mounts on it?

Laminated - Hard plastic backed, with clear plastic over the top. No mounts as its screwed into the wall

I wouldnt have it laminated if its an old relic, once its laminated thats it, you cant remove or anything

No Ikea's near me, went to The Range and bought a huge framed mirror, then took it to a local glaziers who are cutting me a piece of 2mm glass for it.
I'm also keeping the mirror (perspex) for when I do my garden so I can mount it on a wall behind the water feature I'm gonna put in (apparently it's the done thing these days).
So for a total of £30 I've got a nice big dark oak wodden picture frame with a glass front and a big perspex mirror for the garden - everyone's a winnah!!

Cheers for the help everyone - Yes even you Mr Marriott!

Turns out the perspex mirror is actually proper glass! But it is really really thin (2mm again) so have to be careful with it, I picked up the frame today and took it to my parents house (just down the road from the glaziers), along the way I went over a slight bump - glass = cracked!
Took it back, they replaced it free of charge! Went and picked it up in my old man Honda Accord this time as his car actually has suspension.
Will pop up their tomorrow or maybe later this evening and put the map in and get a pic of it hanging on my wall.

I made some myself, bought a big bit of hardboard and a large sheet of perspex from B&Q, cut to size and bought some clips from an art shop and bobs ya uncle. Cost about £20
