I was dissapointed at how my car looked on the stand in the end..

I had it cleaned just before i left having waxed etc..

I then parked it (silly Willay told me to park it near everyones BBQ )

Sunday i cleaned all the shit of and give it a slight polish - taken it to the stand and it was full of some sort of yellowy dust.

I given up in the end, car has looked alot better then what it was out there but i was just drunk (yes in the morning) to care

Did anyone fell the same and give up hope or was it just me,

I got about 4 pictures of my car on the stand, anyone get any for me?

What you need is one of those big brushes with really soft stringy bits on them for wiping the dust off your car. I think Meguairs make them...

I gave mine a dust off on Sunday then it was dusty again in half an hour. Wasn't that bothered cos everyone elses cars were the same and from a few metres you couldnt see the dust anyway.

Me and my mate tried desperately!!

Cleaned, polished (twice) and waxed (once) my car on the Saturday and cling filmed the bonnet and bumpers to keep it all clean for the journey up:

Then got bored and added some clio inspired racing stripes
That attracted a lot of staring and pointing

Then we used detailer etc on the stand in the morning, and attempted to keep it clean 4 extra times with microfibre cloths etc during the day.

Eventually gave up though

Your car looked so good in the pics

Am I the only one here who thinks its a bit OTT to cling film the front of your car ust to travel up a motorway? I would understand if it was a 5Kpaint job and your never ever drove the car on the motorway but its a bit excessive?

I was gonna put cling film on mine as then could of just taken it off when I got there and the flies would be stuck to the cling film instead of my paintwork.

Couldnt be arsed in the end though cos its not exactly a show car

i agree Fad, also, EVERY car was dusty, its the same at EVERY summer show which is in a field, you get pollen everywhere, but it doesnt matter, because all the other cars are covered too.

I loved seeing people cleaning the cars in the camp site whilst most people were getting lashed

I never saw the point as I knew they'd be filthy before the show

Fad:

Maybe but, my car is worth about £7k - doesnt get driven on Motorways much and yesterday I drove 350 miles on motorways.

Also once at PVS, when everybody spent at least an hour cleaning their cars, it tokk me at maximum 20 minutes?

A car looks better with a few chips on the front and covered in flies. It makes it look as if it's been used.

Yep, dark coloured cars will show it up more too. No point sitting there all day trying to keep it dust free, you won't get to enjoy the rest of the show.
