this doesnt sound right.
took out a policy in march this year and as iv now sold my car, i wanted to cancel the policy as iv got a better quote for my new car from another company.
In march i paid a deposit of around £115 and then was paying £59 on 10th of every month for installments.
now iv been charged £95 to cancel it
I thought u get some of the months payments back for what you didnt use like id get back money for between 1st(today) and 10th(next payment.
Does anyone think this is weird or is it different for each company?

i thought of that as i agreed to let them take £12 a month to cover the £95 instead of just paying it straight. but i dont want any mercenaries at the door lol

did you pay a deposit.first installment by card?
if you did, dont cancel the DD, they'll take the money off the card

No chance you would ever get 10 days back off them to start and the 95 will be 'admin' charge although i'd be inclined to tell them to gtf for that.

iv had money back before john for cancelling a policy early.
the insurance is from axa but through direct choice, they said when i took out the policy, they paid axa in full and now that its cancelled, axa only give back a percentage of what was left so i need to pay direct choice the rest so they dont lose out.

direct choice messed me about too. i cancelled and it cost me 2 months amount of money.
it one of those things, it'll be in the policy small print, and theres nothing you can do about it im afraid
