Hi, i'm Jim

Do you let your petrol run till redlight before filling up or do you top up a half-full tank?

How many miles do you get from when red light comes on? ever runout? what engine?

i risk 30miles on the reverse in my 1.4 16v, never run out, could i do more?

I get about 200-240 miles to my 1.25 Zetec and just fill it to the top at Tesco so one day I get a free lunch using my vouchers!

I fill it up when its just above red, have seen the fuel light on about 3 times since i've had the car.

i get abot 30miles out of mine on the red, trip computer tells me i have loads more but i dont trust the cunt.

Get about 300miles to a tank town driving

always fill up before the red light comes on now


once done a 30mile journey in the corsa with the red light on and the fucker ran out about 150yards away from the petrol station was never the same after it either

The red light used to be on loads when I had my old car. Only ran out of petrol once.

I don't trust the gauge, it's so inaccurate. I've done 150 miles on a quarter of a tank then another 150 on the rest

I had to drive to Manchester to pick my brother up from the airport one night. I had to fill up twice and drive 20 miles with the fuel light on

i fill mine up when red light comes on, takes £30 to fill and i get 200 niles to a tank

In answer to your question, i fill my tank all the way up, and refill it when i hit 400 miles or there abouts, sometimes more depending on the position of the needle

thanks for the input.

i usually only press that needle thingy, when the red light comes on, then i do no more than 30miles.

i tried to meaure how many miles from a whole tank, but i always forget not to press the needle

I fill up either when the red light comes on or if I'm near a petrol station and its sat just above the red.

Only run it right through the red once and wont be doing it again as it ran out of petrol after 15 miles 1.2 16v BTW

The light on mine is random. It flickers for a bit, then stays on constant after a bit. Done about 30 miles with it on constant. Best from a 40 litre tank is 370 miles. Thats in the Clio BTW.

On the corsa I can set the petrol light to come on when I want (even at 40 litres lol), so a bit pointless talking about that....

I leave my fuel light to come on everytime before i go to the petrol station as i can't be arsed does about 30/40 miles on red before cut-out though so its not that bad
