your body to "run" faster

I know Obviously weight gain and loss will make a difference, but could someone slow become notibally quicker?

The reason i ask is because i have always been an "average" speed runner, but in years gone by i have lost a couple of yards and i want to try and get em back

I did do 3 years of real working out to get some muscle.... should i focus hard on cardio to get some speed back?? im really not sure.

since i started bodybuilding ive lost about 40% of my pace, it sucks. When im sprinting i dont get tired but just cant reach a decent speed as i feel that im pulling a trailer or something due to the extra weight.

However when i do cardio to cut up a bit i do get some pace back, so sure its possible.

there are plenty of routines that a coach will prescribe to improve your sprinting have a look around on the net. personally i would just focus all my cardio onto the treadmill and slowly add a bit of pace each week.

not really yes you could train and become quicker but it would never be a big massive difference, make up for lack of speed with great stamina and you will eventually be able to outrun people later in the game(when it matters)

Sure you can to an extent. Train your legs in the gym for more explosive power, practice sprinting, practice your starts, practice your technique. You can still run fast with muscle- look at the top sprinters, just dont get too big if you want to run fast!

You will undoubtedly lose a bit of muscle if you start training hard cardio however.

if you wear a weighted pack and do some sprints eventually when you take off the pack you will be faster

I used to run 200m for school and be good at cross country etc soo slow even sprinting in 5-a-side now

You can defo get faster by drooping weight, training the right muscles and honing technqiue, everyone's got natural limits though.
