Just seen this after logging off Hotmail...
quote: The racetrack made famous by its use in the BBC motoring show has been served with a noise abatement programme that threatens the current series of the show.

They've been waffling on about this for ages. Hence why next series will be at a new location.

I would imagine it's a noise abatement procedure for aircraft mainly. Yet it will have some say over the ground operations on the site as it's an active airfield... They should move it to Bruntingthorpe, that place rocks

If the noise abatement is because of the filimg of Top Gear then that argument is flawed.

So a cheap arse car makes more noise than a fuking jet or plane????

I'd be over there everyday if it was next to my house

Some people have got too much time and energy to moan about such issues

Bruntingthorpe is too busy. I'm sure they'll find somewhere. Be ace if they built a proper track instead of adapting taxiways.

Dunsfold they use in surrey
Basically its a working airfield, freight etc is flown in and out of there
The local residents complain at the noise and top gear is just a finger to point at.
We used to do Caterham Motorsport club days there, such as drift and slalom events
We have since been banned from using the venue
top gear is filmed weekly from lunchtime till 8pm at night, in which the celebrity does there laps, the stig roars around as do the presenters
the locals look on the website, see what the next event is and get a petition to ban such events
there was a charity fun run, called race for the line or something and the locals got that banned and then the charity lost the funds as the event never took place
Top Gear is just a large programme they can all moan about and point a finger against,
But there are large planes 747s flying in there daily and they dont seem to mind that
