Best mate smashed his car up last week in Cheshire . Car just slid out of control on a long bend and he hit a lamppost. Lucky boy to still be here today I think! Clio did it's job well in keeping him safe:

Scene of the accident, car came to rest in someone's front garden:

Pictures of the car at the assessors, he didn't know how bad the accident actually was until he went back to get his stuff out Car is so bent:

Drivers Seat:

Front:

Rear:

to think I'm never going to see that car again, spent loads of time in it Only now I think he's starting to realise how lucky he actually was. He only has a few cuts on his arm from where he got out the drivers window, and a "dead leg" from where the lampost hit it.

He's lucky to be alive. I've seen less damage on cars and ppl have come off far worse.

People may mock French build quality, but the safety of recent Renaults is astounding. This proves it.
This really is a thread that should be titled "Lucky barsteward".

Nah bottle was empty

Details of the actual accident were a bit sketchy because he can't remember it. Apparently he lost control of it at 40-45 mph. The 2 lads on the car with him said he wasn't going "that" fast. Took the lamppost clean out of the ground. They all walked away though. So that's the main thing. Every single airbag in the thing went off too

I think the most scary thing would be the airbags going off

Ouch.

Very lucky to get away from that without any injuries really - but yeh does prove that despite being French - it is a pretty safe car!

I think the fact he still walks/breathes is more to do with luck than anything else.

Trees and street furniture are the biggest killer when it comes to RTAs.

He waled into the place to get his stuff out of the car and said the reg of the car.

The woman behind the desk was like . Then she said "How did you actually live". The guy that took him down to the car was amazed that he didn't have broken legs either. Take a look in one of the drivers footwell pics. Not a lot of room left
