to power a HU you need 2 wires
1. direct to battery (with inline fuse)
2. from ignition or a similar power source (im using the ciggy lighter)
the purpose in the 2nd wire is so the headunit turns off when you remove your keys
i need to know what size fuse to use in the ignition wire?

amps, only depends on the draw of the headunit, if you ran a 30amp wire from the battery to the headunit and the headunit had a 7.5 amp fuse the headunit will only draw the current it needs, IE under 7.5
so basically as long as the wire can handle 7.5 amps you will be fine, what ignition wire are you talking about here?

I'D WIRE BOTH TO THE BATT TBH. WHACK A 10AMP BLADE FUSE INLINE. PRO'S SAY THE INTERNAL AMPS WORK BETTER WHEN RUNNING FROM A PERMINANT 12V SUPPLY.
