0-60 in an na is nearer 6.0 sec tbh....you hit the limiter in second at about 57.....re-map and raised limit will see you at 60 in about 5.3ish
MASSES of low down torque
A bit (read loads) understeery out of the box, geo sorts that out
Handling is utterly utterly sublime, breathtaking in fact
strange that they fitted different seals to the turbo really
speed wise 6's to 60 is plenty fast & top end is impressive aswell
What does the car feel like at high speeds??
I love a car that can be thrown about round the bends - this sounds perfect to me

I genuinely LOL @ that
Sorry not taking the piss, if only you knew the arguements on seloc about honda elise conversions
Its true, S1 elises had a k series rover engine and they are prone to head gasket failure big time....s2 111s elise also adopt the k series in all derivatives. 111r elise s2 use the yota vvt engine, nice if you like revving the crap out of the engine to get results but little low down torque.
As for the seals. i was told in no uncertain terms that mine would leak when i bought it.....by the time the turbot got released they had revised the seals...hence the re-call
When its back online you need to look at www.vx220.org.uk and seloc.org
If you let me know where you are located Im happy to chat to one of the other vx220 owners to get you a pax ride

Not sure where I read that about Honda engine
Ah it was a recall - sound, something to check has been done if I get as far as looking at any
I'll register to those sites & have a look. Im up in Scotland, not seen many about but wouldnt mind going shotgun in one if theres someone local
couple more Q's:
Do you have a hard top, how much to buy a hard top.
What power bhp/torque is the 2.2??

I know a few vx owners in scotland....dont think theirs are standard but still worth a look. Edinborough region IIRC, but they are on the .org site
Quite a few vtec conversions done in elises now, mainly because of the k series shortcomings - see seloc
As for hardtops? personally I wouldn't bother (bit ghey imo) I think the vaux oem ones were about a £900....aftermarket CF ones can be bought on the vx.org site. ebay sees them go for around circa £600
To be brutally honest I *much* prefer the NA power delivery. standard runs at about (i wont quote brochures cos that shit) 145bhp and about the same lb/ft torque......mind you 90% of torque is delivered at 2k revs, which is very nice indeed
2.2 na weighs 875kg before you take bits off
2.0 turbot weighs 930kg
No tuners in scootland atm though.

The Honda engines are in the S2 111R's and S2 exiges.
S2 111 and 111s has the Rover lump.
I have the VX 2.2 na and my first test drive (in second gear) was a pure smiler. The power is so direct and is quite raw.
0-60 doenst feel like the factory claim of 5.6, seems more like 6ish. Top end i'm yet to find out but reaching 100 is a walk throught the park.
A sensible drive, you will get around 35mpg
Mine doesnt leak with be it a softtop or hardtop.
Things to watch out for is,
discoloured/crack header tank
loads of stone chips on front bumper
engine mounts( the one under the header tank)
Bubbling of paint work/fibreglass due to frost.
Now go get one
