Is the real reason actually better than that you are not in the mood? Don't post it - I'm just trying to see how he might appreciate this without being told by you what it is as obviously that is outside the scope of your explanation.

Going on all you have currently given him I would be at least a little aggrieved, but yeah, he should look deeper and not think the worst of you for it.

Tomorrow might be the opportunity to say face to face more than your texts did. Assuming you haven't told him to do one by now.
