the 1.8 guzzle far more fuel around town, but it is alot smoother out of the town than the 2.0, but out of the two i would chose the 2.0, 1.8 is jumpy and uses stupid amount of fuel around town/cities.

but overall these cars changed the way people looked at vauxhall's, there comfy, quite reliable and faster than other cars in it's region. also feel a lot better built than vectra's/corsa's out at that time.

Ok thanks. Was thinking of getting one at the end of the year or waiting longer and saving up for a mk4 GSI.

Think if i get an SRI it would be the 2.0 na as ive seen some nice examples at reasonable prices recently

well i owned a 1.8 mk4 astra sport, insurance was incredibly cheap, very nice car. My mate has a 2.2 sri astra, crazy amount of torque, nice and smooth engine aswell. so good cars IMO.

nippy? I've got the Sri Turbo so yes very
comfortable? Compared to my Mk3 Gsi its very comfy and unbelievably quiet, well was until i got my new exhaust.
