After some advice for my gf, needs the following work done on her VTR (we are providing all 2nd hand parts minus the headlight panel and bonnet catch)

* Spray and fit front bumper, grill, bonnet, bonnet hinges, bonnet catch, headlights, headlight panel and crash panel, wire up fog lights

* Repair inner wings

Been quoted £750 + vat, seems high but I know their work is to a good standard does this seem reasonable? It is a fair bit of work.

I know but the wings inside are twisted and need pulling, realigning etc - it was a front end whack so isn't a case of just spraying a few bits.

If you know their work is of a good standard then go with it. It doesn't seem too bad a price. Like you say fair bit of work involved

mate that does seem ok, it is a fair bit of cash but then again it is a fair bit of work. If you trust them, then its worth paying a little for your peace of mind i always think.

Not 100% sure, think its underneath the headlights where they sit? It's mashed anyway whatever it is! Had mixed opinions on the price, some saying it's way too much and some saying its ok doh! Sounds ok to me although I think she'll disagree.

you might find somwhere that will be 100 or so cheaper, but if you know this place does good work and is reliable then go with it.

Ok cheers for the replies Think I'll recommend she goes for it and I'll see if they can knock a bit off seeing as I put a fair bit of business their way.

Can you pay in Cash? they could most likely knock it down a fair bit then mate, seems reasonable as (if everyones said) there work is good if your unsure of the quality of their work or reliability then maybe get a few other quotes

Songs fair. Maybe 100/150 over what you might expect but if their work is of good standard then its worth spending abit extra now then doubling the cost by having it done again in the future if you take it somewhere cheap now

Cash is £750, cheque etc vat on top. The insurance are paying for the work though (but I'll pay bodyshop up front even though I'm broke ) Had to buy the bits as most bodyshops inc. new parts were writing the car off. Insurance company were offering £1300 for it and it's only covered 50k miles so seems a shame (and she can't afford it) to see it written off for such minor damage.
