I had a spud cannon when i was a kid, we put oxygen in it and it shattered the combustion chamber and vapourised most of the PVC. Lighter gas works great though.

4" and 2" tubing for combustion chamber and barrell

reducer and screw on end cap

about to shorten the pipe with a cutting disc on a dremel

chamber with end cap and reducer attached

finished article (pic didn't come out too well)

sharpened barrel to allow easier spud coring

scarily this little lot came to over £40 with a bottle of plastic cement on top.
only wanted a few feet of small and one foot of large, but they come in 3m lengths, so had to buy too much. I thought it would total at about £15. oops
soon as i've got a spark ignitrer sealed in i'll give it a blast.
