on the top plug on the 3 on the std iso connection
there are 4 wires in the top plug
which on of these do i cut to get the centre bit of the display back when my stereo is on

The blue wire on the multiplug coming out of your hu.

yeah you cut the blue/white trace that goes into the ISO block. I did this for the remote for the amp and i've managed to get the date to come up as well, which was a bonus !!

wasnt it the red/grey wire thats in the 1st block (with power etc) sure it was, done it 3 times now, naybody know how to do it on a corsa C?

i think its that wire if you cut it in the vauxhall loom, if you checked the wire that would correspond to the blue wire in the HU loom
