the bloody garage parked my car down my street and i now have a £60 parking ticket. I have to have a permit and because i cant really afford a ticket i park it on next street. The garage knows this because i told them before. So now have a £60 fine, but not paying it as not my fault. Rang council and they said i have to write it in writing.

Forward the ticket to the garage with a letter explaining its thier fault. Council should let you off anyway if you send a letter written in writing
