Well I got a parking ticket this evening as I popped into a mates to do some laundery.
Bearing in mind that parking here in Aber takes the piss! this was the only space that was availible at the time.

Here are pictures of how I was parked:

So as you can see I am off the road and there is still space for people to walk past on the pavement etc.

And here is the note that was left on my windscreen (sorry its in three parts i took the pictures on my phone):

Now as you can see they have listed my car as a Citroen Saxo!!!!
Cant the police down here read?! I even have CORSAsport.co.uk stickers in my windows
Is there anyway I can argue this? thinking that maybe I can get off due to them writting down the car name down?

Also the fact that all they have written down for the cause is "Unnecessary obstruction" code 1172?

Just wondering if there is anything I can do to waste abit of their time over it or even get off paying it?
If not I will pay it beacuse I guess I did break the law!

But any advice would be welcome!

I completely forgot to pay one of mine in Aber and nothing came of it. My best mate always parks his car on the pavement outside his missus' place opposite harleys and has never had a ticket, guess you were unlucky!

Wonder if I should just leave it? or do you reckon it would go to court and means I would have to pay the extra £15?

if it was me id prob just pay up, save getting a bigger fine afterwards. Welsh police are a special bunch of people, you already know what I think of them (Part from the fit blonde one, saw her in spoons the other day and gave her a little wink and a smile )

you could claim to be victim of car identity theft as you don't drive a saxo and you weren't in the area at the time.

if it was me i'd pay up.
you've done three things wrong:
parking on double yellows
parking with all wheels on the pavement
parking within 10 metres of a junction ( don't remember if this is illegal, but it's definately mentioned in the highway code )

Fortunately for you we live in a paperwork mad society. Im 99.5% sure if you contest the details on the ticket i.e. it saying the car in question is a citroen saxo when your car is clearly not, the council will HAVE to disregard it.

Its up to you, IMO you will have a very strong chance of getting off regardless of what you did. If the specified details are incorrect, there is no clarity in what/who the council are charging for/to end of story.

bin it and if they chase you say you dont own a saxo and if your car is registered in cheshire say you have never been to aber therefore must have been a reg error

Is your name mentioned anywhere? No
Is your car a Citroen Saxo? No
If you contest the details of the ticket, it implies you have the ticket which shouldnt be with you but with the 'citroen saxo' LOL then it would be a case of your car being cloned http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/clonevehicle.htm

2 options:

1.pay for it (since you shouldnt have done what you did)

2. wait and see what happens then contest...

but do remember that it's not about the car name here, but the number plate. They can say that you are using your number plate on another car

One last thing: next time, no need to hide your number plate because it shows on the ticket

Citroen Saxo!!!!

Mate, your name isn't mentioned and they got the vehicle wrong. If I was you, I'd go along the route of "Where's that road? never been there in my life...must be a cloned plate"

Although to be fair you should have a ticket, you parked on a double yellow end of mate
