Yesterday, McLaren fielded a team of young ENGLISH players, all i think were local boys also. that's what its all about, thats what makes English football so good. Local lads playing for the team they grew up supporting, and playing extremley well against fulham, full of foreigners and older players, and very unlucky to lose IMO. It really makes me respect them more than the 'bigger' clubs like arsenal who struggle to field 1 english player, disgusting.

Well done Boro

The squad was made up of 15/16 young English players born with 30 miles of the stadium all graduating for the academy.

There are some v.good young plaeys too,

Cattermole, taylor, morrison, wheater, mcmahon, johnson for a start.

We had a goal disallowed and really took the game to Fulham. We were disappointed to come away with a loss.

Future looks good for the boro babes!

Have faith!
Cattermole is already pushing his way into the team. Mcmahon was a regular last season as was morrison, Downing and parnaby also graduated from the academy and are now first team regulars!

bring back the rule where a team is onyl allowed to field a certain amount of foreign palyers, i dont see why we shoudlnt do this, i mean is the best way to stregthen our own engladn team for the future.

Almost same as Huddersfield, last season we fielded a team that was 9 out of 11 that have graduated from our academy

Exactly, I have watched this crop of youngsters develop over the past 4 years since they won the FA Youth Cup, Boro now have 3 YOUNG ENGLISH LEFT WINGERS too. Whata rareity, Downing, johnson and last but not least the next up and coming star Nathan Porrit!

Watched him 5 times this season and he will be better than stewart downing!!

Manutd Tottenham and Newcastle have already tried to sign him from us.

Exciting times ahead!

There was a time when Thierry Henry/Ronaldinho had never played a first team match, to shoot them down before they get a chance is just daft.
