To manually remove Windows Live Messenger from your computer:

b. Click "Save" to save the Msicuu2.exe file, and then select a location on your computer that you will remember.
c. Click "Run", and then follow the instructions to install the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility.
Note: The Windows Installer Clean Up Utility is installed in the "C:\Program Files\Windows Installer Clean Up" folder.
d. You may locate and delete the Msicuu2.exe file that you saved in step b if you want to.

6. Remove Messenger from installed products by using Windows Installer Clean Up:
a. Click "Start", click "All Programs", and then click "Windows Install Clean Up".
b. In the list of "Installed Products", click the MSN Messenger program, click "Remove", and then click "OK".

7. Delete the Messenger registry key.

a. Click "Start", click "Run", type "regedit", and then click "OK".
b. Click "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE", click "SOFTWARE", and then click "Microsoft" to expand these registry key folders.
c. Click the "MSN Messenger" folder. Make sure that the MSN Messenger folder is selected.

Note: You can expand the MSN Messenger folder without selecting it. When the MSN Messenger folder is selected, it is highlighted.

d. On the "Edit" menu, click "Delete". Click "Yes" to confirm that you want to remove this key and all its subkeys.

8. Restart your computer.
