It's pretty expensive to be honest but depends on where you do it

You can do just intro courses which u won't get qualified on and take a few hours or u can get a proper open diver qualificationw hich involves an exam and so on.. takes about a day i think (long time ago since i did it lol)

www.padi.com shud help u out some more... dont use some shoddy dive school please look into them and whether they use PADI/BSAC

I did my PADI diving course in Cozumel, Mexico.

It's one of the best things i have ever done in my life! We went to around 95 Feet. I was hovering on the edge of a ledge that seemed endless at one point. I asked how deep it went when out of the water. It was a 1,000Ft sheer drop!

I would really recommend it. Worth every penny

Brother works at the Dive Centre down at Stoney Cove. Its pretty good, wrecks etc at the bottom to explore war tank, plane, ship etc. If i remember they have a 3 day course were you're fully trained up and ready to go, though i think you have to have so many dives for full PADI not sure.

Heres their website http://www.underwaterworld.co.uk/

i've dove stoney cove but back in 1997 time i think how longs he worked there?

As tiesto said to be an open water diver you need the following:

-Number of Dives: Five Confined Water Dives and Four Open Water Dives
-Knowledge Development: Five sessions
-Prerequisites: 10 for Junior Open Water Diver and 15 for Open Water Diver. Good health, reasonable fitness and comfort in the water.
-Materials You’ll Need: PADI Open Water Crew-Pak, PADI Open Water Video or DVD, Log Book.
-Equipment you’ll use during the course includes: mask, fins, snorkel, tank, regulator, buoyancy compensator, submersible pressure gauge and exposure protection as required by the local environment.

It then increases as you get a higher level, i'm currently on i think 100 odd dives so i could effectively go for divemaster but i cba

my dad does it and fucking loves it.

if u wanna try it before u go maybe look for a local club or something, my dads a member and u can do bubble runs or something which is just in a swimming pool to try the basics.

i did it on holiday with him once and was freaked out the first few minutes, breathin really quick and panicing. then i got used to it and really liked it

I done my discover scuba in turkey a few years back, fcuking loved it apart from the bad head it gave me for 2 days (i dont think i was equalizing properly). Not as bad as my mate tho, he came up with his mask full of blood popped a blood vessel in his nose from trying to equalize too much.

The instructor even taught us how to do rings
