What I can't understand is, why, when he's building it from scratch especially, out of all the bodies/shapes/silhouettes in the whole wide world that he could have chosen to use, did he pick the bloody focus?

Arguably the ugliest car ever put into production.

It is true, he died of cancer about 3 years ago IIRC, it says near the beginning of the thread on ffoc.
