Well, friday afternoon I was handed two VIP passes for the weekend at the British Superbike Championships at Oulton Park
(Also, got those caps free when I went to the sponsors tent )

On the way in, spotted this sneaky Clio V6

After finding a descent parking spot (took a while ) i just had to get some pics of the fields of bikes upon bikes

This caught my eye in the car park

There was an Escort Cosworth Rally Car so had to get a pic

This was next to it

125's just come in from racing

Some pics of the racing (on my phone so not so great, sorry )

Thought this was cool when i saw it

Some vids. Was a bit hard to see more than a small stretch of track and wasn't easy on my phone

I went to Ipswich v Belle Vue today at Speedway, when it'd finished I took my copy of Jason Crumps autobiography and got him to sign it - he's a really nice guy (even though a lot of people hate him) as are most speedway riders tbh, down to earth and willing to spend plenty of time with the fans, so much better than going to watch football (which I love aswell) - and cheaper!

Best place to watch is the last corner before the finishing straight at Oulton i think. A few years back in the paddock at one of the events there was a clio v6 and a ferrari about 2 vans down, the v6 got loads more attention that the ferrari it was quite weird!

Speedway is currently the fastest growing two wheeled sport in this country and he is one of the greatest riders on the planet at present and a former world champion (in 2004) and the captain of 3 recent world cup winning Australian teams.
He could so easily be very cocky and arrogant and not have times for the fans, but he (and most riders I've seen) have plenty of time for them, signing autographs, having pictures taken, having a chat - how many premier league footballers and world cup winners would have time for that after a game of football?

Agree with Jules. Makes the sports much more entertaining when the competitors aren't arrogant arseholes.

Loafof - you a Belle Vue fan? If so then your fans are superb! The ones that came all the way down here yesterday were fantastic, giving out loads of stick but they also took it so fair play.

I've been down a few times. Wouldn't call myself a fan as such. More of a spectator when it suits

couldn't believe how well Shakey did considering hes been on a drip all weekend - could barely stand on the podium after race one - was very very good racing and shows "greg Lavilla" wnt necessarily be on top for long
My rider of the weekend has to be Harris though - after getting knowcked onto the grass for 300m at the start of the first race to finish 5th
and then storming through race 2- 0.005 seconds away from beating Lavilla

Whitham and the commentator on the tv where proper bumming him though, it was getting a bit tiresome!
