Hi,

I have lots of expensive stuff in my glove box, psp, mp3 player etc etc.

I was looking though peoples garages and noticed some have locks on.

Are these custom jobs or were they avalible on higher spec models.

Any idea where i can get one?

Scrapyard would usually yield one

but tbh the lock isn't fort knox if someone wants it they'll probably just smash it open, they're pretty flimsy iirc... better of getting one of those in car lock boxes i've seen in Evo where you can put ure GPS/Radar detector in them and then it's bolted to the car.

Yeh there so easy to break into its not really worth it. You would need a different key for it aswell as it works off the one for your car.

does the lock just stop the handle moving or does it secure it to the dash?

Try your Key in another lock you maybe suprised

Yeh my key works in a few mates cars as does mine in theirs!

Why i took the lock barrel out as it was pointless!

Generally available on older higher spec. I'm sure they stopped putting them in, possibly due to the fact that you can rag the dash about a steal the whole glovebox, which means you lose your stuff and have a snapped dash, rather than just lose your stuff.

i had one in my 1.2 ls l reg so i wouldnt have been just the higher spec
