i understand that if your wheels and tyres stick out past the arch of the car its illegal, like when they stick out an inch past the arch, but as long as the tread of the tyre is inside the arch its ok? even if the sidewall etc is slightly outwidth the arch (stretched tyres).

i also think its to do with the tread, as long as the tread is covered, then its not a problem

cant see why though really, the wing mirrors stick out more

One would assume that tyre stretching is illegal. Can't be ideal for the tyre?

just some daft traffic police last night pulling me and having a go, they didnt do anything but said to get it sorted or they'll do me next time.

off to vosa on tuesday then to ask them

they didnt moan about that at all.

dont think theres any specific guides on what size tyre to what size rim.

no laws regarding tyre stretching ed, and its not really that bad for the tyre, it does the same job

its to do with them throwing spray up not the fact they stick out as such. Your wing mirrors dont throw up much spray do they

bottom of my wheels sticks out firther than the bottom of the wheelarch though, thats not a problem, so the law is stupid

is that the same traffis cop that keeps trying to get you done all the time?

they'll be fine, they dont stick out at the arch.

i think he's talking crap tbh.aslong as the tyres don't go past the arch and cause things to be thrown up at other vehicles they will be fine.
