Ok so my car (Alfa 156 1.8TS) has the early morning judders (well any start up when its been left sitting a long time!!) when its started it lacks any power & I have to hobble down the street like im on kangaroo petrol...it backfires during this!! If I turn it off then back on it seems to help

Apart from this its running okay, pulls well in all gears, lacking a bit of top end power but im just putting that down to the car being 140bhp Any idea what could be causing this as ive done the plugs & timing belt & I cleaned the maf....still doing it. It doesnt cut out & is fine the rest of the time so ruled out fuel pump

Anyone...im thinking replace the MAF next but its pretty expensive!!

Ive been kicking fuck out of the throttle...no good. Clears maybe 50% if I turn off the car then fire up again straight away...then maybe another minute & its working fine!!
