do cardio 3 times a week, run or swim.
lift weights all body work out with lightish weights high reps 2-3 times a week.
change diet no shit, simple as that consume less calories and increase the ammount you burn through cardio you will lose weight.
but its got a LOT to do with diet cut the crips chocolate and beer ect out.
fitness, strenght and body change will all happen overtime.

fair enough but do you know how many empty calories there actually are in beer, it will just hurt your progress drinking in moderation is fine or occasionally but not every day/night or just for the sake of having a few beers in front of the tv.
seems pointless trying to achive something and not doing everything you can to attain your goal.

set your self a taget time at the gym and work as hard as you can for that peirod of time.
As everyone else has said you need to watch wat you eat and drink as work outs alone wont help you get fitter and stronger,

you don't actually have to work that hard to burn fat, just get your heart over a certain percentage of max heart rate. It's more boring than strenous!

Hence why fat burn on the running machines is set at a fast walking pace rather than running
