when my ex gf left for uni, which was just over an hour away, we lasted the the year fine, broke up the summer after whilst we were both back at home, but if you want it to work it can.

Kathryn common sense in my eyes means more to me than being able to write scientific formula's I know this girl who was really good academically but was sooooo shy on common sense really really slow infact

you will be mate, if you both want it to work then it will. Me and my gf had no problems. And my older sister and her fella survived her being in Italy for a year and only seeing each other a few times during that year, they are married now with a kid.

well having been at uni and pulled many girls with bfs, basically it means shit and to be honest unis a place where u meet new people, do new things, mature and start a new part of your life.
with this in mind i went to uni single and then after a year met a girl back home who then went to a diff uni and my head went mad with jealously. coudlnt hack it and eventualy split us up.
but thats just me and my experience,

it really is different for others though. Me and my gf are at different Uni's, we've bother made new friends and changed some what. But we both loved each other still, stayed faithful and are together.
I can see why it can go wrong, but if you both dont want it too, I dont see why it cant work!
