Mate of mine with a restored split screen vw camper bought an original one at a VW show a couple of weeks back for almost £300 - and that is cheap!
He's going to take it with him to the show with the camper

Got an original silver one in the loft, and a period BMX with red Skyways and a chromoly tear drop frame.

Gotta keep your old toys. Especially when they end up being worth 600 quid.

Personally i think the new ones are gay. I remeber they were really popular with people that were trying to be hip and trendy though as i sold loads when i used to work part time at bikehut.

Yeah, they're not the same are they Gav.

The standard of finish isn't a patch on an original bike (probably made in Vietnam or Korea now no doubt), the saddle is completely wrong, and the cross bar gear shift is missing.

There's probably other detail stuff i've forgotten too.
